The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was a huge hit for Hulu when it premiered last September, and now Season 2 is gearing up for its debut on May 15. “I’ve been working in reality television since 1998, and so I’ve done a lot of docuseries, and so I was thrilled to get the call,” executive producer Jeff Jenkins reveals in Gold Derby’s Meet the Experts: Reality TV panel.

After being brought in by Disney’s unscripted chief Rob Mills, Jenkins set out to meet the 20 or so young ladies who went viral after a swingers scandal erupted within their Mormon-focused MomTok group on TikTok. “We shot a little bit with them,” Jenkins begins, “and from there, we decided, ‘OK, these seven or eight are the most interesting to focus on'” for the upcoming TV show.

Did the wives have any comments or critiques about the way they were portrayed in the first season? “They make a living as, I guess we’d call them ‘influencers,’ right? So, I think in many ways, they’re very happy because their followers grow, and their businesses grow,” Jenkins tells us…
