EXCLUSIVE: Ian Gelfand, who served as showrunner on Bravo’s The Valley: Persian Style and exec produced Summer House, and Matt Nagorner, who was previously head of talent, unscripted television at Warner Horizon, have set up a new shop.
The pair are launching IM Trying Productions as a joint venture with 3BMG, the production group run by CEO Ross Weintraub and Chairman Reinout Oerlemans.
IMT Productions is developing and producing unscripted content across multiple genres, with a focus on celebrity and personality-driven series. It is currently working on a home design show, a hidden camera format and pop culture docuseries.
Gelfand and Nagorner serve as co-presidents.
It is the latest joint venture for 3BMG, which is behind Secret Lives of Mormon Wives producer Jeff Jenkins Productions, Superluna Studios, which produces Netflix’s Member’s Only: Palm Beach and Bar Rescue producer 3 Ball Productions.
Gelfand’s credits include Vanderpump Villa, Duck Dynasty and Summer House.
Nagorner spent nearly ten years at Warner Bros., initially as assistant to Brooke Karzen, having previously been Chuck Lorre’s assistant. He has worked on series including The Bachelor and The Voice as well as HGTV’s Bachelor Mansion Takeover.
